September 2000..anyone who is Australian, couldn't be prouder of our beautiful city at this moment. She is radiant and colourful and friendly. All the things that the world has been hearing about Sydney for years, is true. It is with much honour that we host the XXVII Olympic Games and open our city to millions of welcome guests, hoping that they will enjoy in a few weeks, what we natives have been born to and appreciated all of our lives.
I have selected some pictures of the Opening Ceremony, but nothing can capture the actual visual splendour of the night.
This page is dedicated by me, a first generation Australian born of Italian parents who took the chance and migrated here to start a better life in 1955, the year I was born.
